Students Raise $1000 for Vocations

Inspired by Vocations Awareness Week and as a part of Catholic Schools Week, our students held a special campaign to raise funds for local seminarians: Cents for Seminarians.  Students brought in pennies to fill their class jar... but they could also bring in nickles, dimes, quarters and dollars that if added to another class jar would actually subtract that amount from that jar.  This made for a very interesting and competitive campaign.  Special thanks to the 3rd-4th grade class for hosting the campaign and counting the money collected.

Congratulations to our 7th and 8th grade class for winning the class competition using strategy and sabotage; however, it should also be noted that the 3rd and 4th grade class brought in the most amount of change which added up to $197.

The overall total that was collected was $1000 which allowed us to provide 2 scholarships - one to a Legionary brother who once served Everest and is now studying in Rome and another to a local seminarian studying at Mundelein with the Archdiocese of Chicago.

Everest students pray for and compete to support Seminarians

Everest Academy students have been using National Vocations Awareness Week as an opportunity to pray for local seminarians, as well as to raise money to support their education.

Students may come to school dressed in the attire of the vocation/career they aspire to.
