Dear Parents,

I hope you enjoyed this beautiful Mother’s Day week-end  for our very deserving Mothers.

Please note the following reminders for this week:
1.    There is no Drama practice as was previously  indicated on the calendar for today. A full dress rehearsal will be held on Wednesday at 2:00 pm.
2.    Friday is early dismissal at 2:00 pm as it is Peter Pan Production night.
3.    Mass on Friday will be held at 1:20 pm
4.    Spring Bedding plants are available for pick up if you have not already done so.

Dear Parents,

We hope that your Easter break was filled with every grace and blessing of the season.   As we resume the rhythm of school, here are a few reminders and updates for this week:

·         MAY CROWNING & MOTHERS’ TEA – Everest mothers, grandmothers, aunties and friends are invited to attend the May Crowning and Mothers’ Tea this Friday, May 6th – beginning with Mass at 8:10 a.m.  Please RSVP to Elise Pratt at epratt@everestlemont.com or (630) 243-1995, if you have not already done so. 

·         OPEN HOUSE – Please remember to invite your friends, neighbors and fellow-parishioners to our Open House to be held this Thursday, May 5th from 9 to 11 a.m.

·         MOMS’ COFFEE CANCELLED - The Moms’ Coffee scheduled for Thursday, May 5th has been cancelled due to the gathering of moms planned for Friday’s May Crowning and Mothers’ Tea.  Please watch the newsletter for information about the June Moms’ Coffee.

·         WOMEN’S MORNING OF REFLECTION - All Everest moms and their friends are invited to attend the Women’s Morning of Reflection this coming Saturday, May 7th from 9 a.m. to Noon in the Everest Chapel.   Please RSVP to MaryAnn Wood at mewrew@comcast.net or 815-756-0859 if you plan to attend.  

·         SPECIAL HOT LUNCH – As a fundraiser for the Drama Club, Tuesday, May 8th will be a special TACO TUESDAY hot lunch.  If you’d like your child to participate, please print out the attached form and return it to the office, along with your payment, by Friday, May 6th.

Dear Everest Academy Parents and Staff,

We hope you are well and enjoying the arrival of spring weather.

Here are a few requests and reminders:

REQUESTS:

o    Let’s pray for a safe delivery for the Akroush baby who is due to arrive tomorrow. 

o    Let’s also pray for the Everest Middle School students who will participate in Junior High School Math Competition at Providence Catholic High School in New Lenox this Saturday, April 16th  from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm.

o    Would you be interested in having your child(ren) take part in afterschool child care for the 2011-2012 school year?  We will be able to offer this service only if enough families are interested.  Please contact the office if you would like us to note your interest and keep you informed of the possibilities.

o    Would you be interested in offering afterschool child care to other school families for the 2011-2012 school year?  If so, please contact the office and we will add your name to a list we will provide to school families seeking this type of service.

REMINDERS:

o    Plan now to attend the Living Stations of the Cross at 1:10 p.m. on Friday, followed by an All-School Mass at 2:20 p.m.

o    This is the last call for registrations for this weekend’s Open Spiritual Exercise Retreat with Fr Matthew Kaderabek.  What a great way to prepare for Holy Week!   

o    Forms are due for May Hot Lunch and the Spring Session #2 of Polish Language Classes.  You can download these forms, and other forms, from the Everest Academy website at this link:  http://www.everestadvantage.org/parents/current-parents/forms-parents

We hope that you had a wonderful weekend and that you had time to enjoy the beautiful weather.

Here are a number of important reminders and updates for the week of April 10, 2011.

REMINDERS
·         Tomorrow -- Tuesday, April 12th -- is Spring Picture Day.  A LifeTouch photographer will be at Everest Academy to take spring portraits.  These portrait sittings are optional.  Tomorrow, students will be allowed to dress in their “Sunday Best”, rather than their regular school uniform, if the family plans to purchase a spring portrait package.  Only those paying at the camera on picture day will be photographed.  You must provide exact payment as the photographer will not be able to provide change.

·         Friday, April 15thStudents in Grades 5 and 8 will participate in class in the Illinois Math League Contest.  Over 1 million students from the United States and Canada participate in Math League Contests each year. Every contest has questions from different areas of mathematics. The goal is to encourage student interest and confidence in mathematics through solving worthwhile problems. Many students first develop an interest in mathematics through problem-solving activities such as these contests. Schools compete in statewide or multistate league competitions.

·         Saturday, April 16th  from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm - Junior High School Math Competition at Providence Catholic High School in New Lenox for students in grades 6, 7 and 8.  Please let Mrs. Stringham know if your student will be able to participate.


UPDATES
·         Forms for Spring Session #2 of Polish Language Classes – The first series of Polish Classes are scheduled to end next week.   If you’d like your child(ren) to attend the Session #2 Polish Classes during the month of May, please print out, complete, and return the attached Polish Language Permission Slip.   There is no fee for these classes.

·         Hot Lunch Forms for May – Two hot lunch forms for May are here and here. If you wish to order hot lunches during the month of May, please print out, complete, and return the forms, along with your checks (made payable to cash) to the school office.

Greetings to you as we approach the day of our Annual Gala.  Here are a few reminders and updates for this week -- along with a copy of this week’s newsletter:

EVEREST ACADEMY GALA. . .
It’s not too late to RSVP for Saturday evening’s “In the Heart of Lemont” Gala, to be held at the school.  Contact Mrs. Thomas at  rtihm@comcast.net if you’d still like to purchase tickets for what is sure to be a superb event.

YOUR HELP NEEDED. . .
Attention all parents!  Your help is needed on Sunday, March 6 at 1 p.m. to help with the Post-Gala Cleanup Event.  Drinks and snacks will be provided.  Please show up and be ready to help.

CHALLENGE & CONQUEST. . .
This is a reminder that this Friday, March 4th,  there will be NO Challenge Club and NO Conquest Club meetings at Everest Academy. This is due to set-up and preparations for our exciting Gala on Saturday, March 5th.

GRADUATION GOWNS & CAPS. . .
If you let the school borrow a graduation gown or cap for the Kindergarten group photo, these items are now available at the desk in the school office for you to pick up at your convenience.

Dear Parents,

We’d like to remind you that it’s re-enrollment time and there are benefits to meeting some important deadlines . . .

March 1st - Re-enrollment Packet & Non-Refundable Registration Fee (equal to 10% of full year tuition) are due.  For example, if the full year tuition will be $7140.00 the non-refundable registration fee due on March 1st would be $714.00.  Avoid a $200 per student late fee by meeting this deadline.   Only those who submit their re-enrollment packet by this date will qualify to receive the payment discounts listed below:

Option #1: April 1st - Save 5% when you pay tuition in full on or before April 1st.
Option #2: April 1st & October 1st - Save 2% when you pay tuition in two equal payments on or before these dates.
Option #3: April 20th to January 20 - Spread your payments equally over 10 months for a $150 administrative fee.

May 2nd - Book/Material Fee of $165 per student is due.  Avoid a $25 per student late fee by meeting this deadline.

Please contact the Business Office if you have questions or concerns about the re-enrollment process.

If you have been scheduled for a Parent-Teacher Conference on Friday, February 18th, please be prompt for your appointment, as the meetings are often back-to-back.
