Dear Parents,

We hope that you had a wonderful weekend and that you had time to enjoy the beautiful weather.

Here are a number of important reminders and updates for the week of April 10, 2011.

REMINDERS
·         Tomorrow -- Tuesday, April 12th -- is Spring Picture Day.  A LifeTouch photographer will be at Everest Academy to take spring portraits.  These portrait sittings are optional.  Tomorrow, students will be allowed to dress in their “Sunday Best”, rather than their regular school uniform, if the family plans to purchase a spring portrait package.  Only those paying at the camera on picture day will be photographed.  You must provide exact payment as the photographer will not be able to provide change.

·         Friday, April 15thStudents in Grades 5 and 8 will participate in class in the Illinois Math League Contest.  Over 1 million students from the United States and Canada participate in Math League Contests each year. Every contest has questions from different areas of mathematics. The goal is to encourage student interest and confidence in mathematics through solving worthwhile problems. Many students first develop an interest in mathematics through problem-solving activities such as these contests. Schools compete in statewide or multistate league competitions.

·         Saturday, April 16th  from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm - Junior High School Math Competition at Providence Catholic High School in New Lenox for students in grades 6, 7 and 8.  Please let Mrs. Stringham know if your student will be able to participate.
