I hope that your week is off to a good start as we anticipate the beginning of Lent.

This note provides you with important updates, reminders, and news:


POLICY & PROCEDURE UPDATES:

Notice to Parents Regarding After School Pick Up:

·         Please note that from now on all students involved in After School Activities will be dismissed from the regular Drop Off and Pick Up location at the northwest entrance of the building.
·         Please arrive on time when picking up your child /children from any After School Activity.

Procedure for After School Activities:

·         Unless otherwise indicated all students staying for After School Activities will meet in the cafeteria.
·         All students will be supervised by a representative of the school until the club leader/teacher arrives.
·         All students are to be supervised at all times until parents pick up their children.
·         The club leader/teacher is responsible for supervision and dismissal from all After School Activities.

REMINDERS:

Wednesday, March 9 – Ash Wednesday
·         All School Mass at 1:20 p.m. & Early Dismissal at 2:00 p.m.
·         Women’s Evening of Reflection from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the Everest Chapel

·         Jason Evert Off-Site Event for 7th & 8th Grade Students

Wednesday, March 16
·         Special Visit from Fr John Connor, LC - Territorial Director

 Thursday, March 17
·         Feast of St. Patrick -  Casual Dress Day
Students may dress casually on this day. T-shirts with emblems are not permitted.
Students are permitted to wear jeans and presentable casual clothing.

 Friday, March 18
·         No Mass
·         Yearbook Purchase are Due
·         Lenten Family Fun Night from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.

 Saturday, March 19
·         Middle School Catechism Contest from 10 a.m. to Noon at St. Gerald’s in Oak Lawn

Tuesday, March 22
·         Day of the Fathers - Honoring St. Joseph & Everest Fathers
o   8:00 - 8:45 a.m.           All School Mass
o   8:45 - 9:00 a.m.           Continental Breakfast
o   9:00 - 9:30 a.m.           Conference Talk on Fatherhood
o   9:30 - 10:30 a.m.         Fathers Visit Classrooms for Activities

Wednesday, March 23
·         Open House from 5 to 8 p.m.



NEWS:

Seeking Middle School Student Volunteers for the Area Catechism Contest:
Our Middle School students (Grades 5-8) have the opportunity to earn “extra credit” in their Catholic Formation class if they volunteer to participate in the Catechism Contest to be held from 10 a.m. to Noon on Saturday, March 19th at St. Gerald School 9320 South 55th Court, Oak Lawn, IL  60453.  Please contact Ms. Molly Maher, Dean of Students, at mmaher@everestlemont.com if you wish to have your child participate in this event.
