Dear Parents,
I hope this finds you all very well. We are very pleased with the interest in our Drama Club production-thank you for having your child(ren) participate. We have 45 students registered so far.
Please see the following points for your consideration.
Registration: If you are still interested and have not submitted a registration form please do so as soon as possible this week.
Drama Teachers: We have had such a fine response that we will have an additional Drama teacher join us to assist Mr. Smith. We are very pleased to welcome Mrs. Jennifer Collins to Everest Academy. She will join us today for the first time. We will provide bios and contact information on both Mr. Smith and Mrs. Collins. They will make an excellent team.
Auditions: From 11:30 am to 3:00 pm today, as you know, students were meeting individually with Mr. Smith at 5 minute intervals to “audition” for a part in the Peter Pan production. This set of auditions was primarily more a means to personally meet and work with each student. All who have registered will be part of the production. Mr. Smith will be informing students of their parts in the next week. Mr. Smith will cast the characters based on this meeting with each student. We will also provide a script for each student this week.
Meetings and Practice: You are aware that we have varying age levels participating in our Drama Club, which is wonderful. How we will work with each age level, we are in the process of determining. This will mean that the kindergarten students and depending on the character a student is cast in, may not need to be present for the whole 2 hour drama club period. We will provide more clarity on this in the upcoming week and we thank you for your patience. Some costs may be adjusted based on less time for younger students. At the same time please know that the possibility of having the Drama club is based on the collective financial contribution and participation/support of the program. This builds the viability to offer this Fine Arts activity annually.
Drama Club Committee: This year we would like to form a parent drama club committee. We hope that interested parents will meet to help support and to assist in the execution and success of this production as well as to build the foundation for future years.
Important Information: Please see the attached information from Mr. Smith (some of which your child received today). The audition sides can be re-read at home together as well just as warm ups. These were used in the auditions. (Check your email for this document).
You may want to pack your child an extra snack if you wish to do so on Mondays since it will be a longer day for them.
If it works for you at some point it may be good (although our production will not be exactly like the movie) to view a Peter Pan movie or to read the story together.
Thank you for your support, interest and collaboration as we work out all the logistics for our Drama Club.
Please feel free to contact me at anytime if you have further questions.
God bless,
Sincerely in Christ,
Christine Gamache

About Everest
Everest Academy Lemont, founded in 1995 as White Pines Academy, is a private Catholic school offering a Pre-K through grade 8 program.
Our goal is to offer each child the highest quality education through Integral Formation®, the pedagogical method developed by the Legionaries of Christ. Through Integral Formation®, each student benefits from a personalized approach that develops the whole person, from intellect and character to spiritual life and apostolic responsibility. The result: intelligent, responsible, and positive leaders who will transform society with the Gospel values.
Here at Everest Academy, with our brand new campus opened for the fall 2009 school year, we are poised for growth and ready to give our students a Catholic educational experience that will last them a lifetime. Find out more by taking a tour of our campus.
