Everest Academy‘s technology plan will be shared with parents in the near future. As part of the process of enhancing technology use in the classroom we hope to obtain Mimio brand devices that will allow for interactive white board use to enhance teacher lessons.

Recently parents and teachers were provided with a technology presentation on the Mimio brand interactive white board tools. We have a technology fund in place and our Manna and Box Tops income is directly allocated to this area.  Some of our parents have come forward to form a team to provide creative and community-enhancing ways to raise funds for technology in the school. The Direction of Technology Implementation in the Classroom at Everest Academy: The study of technology provides students the opportunity to master computer skills, understand the effect technology has on society, and develop the art of effective communication. Technology is taught as a tool for research and application of communication software. Lessons are designed to enhance students‘ learning experiences in other core subjects through instruction, discussion, and hands-on assignments. Self-discipline, concentration, commitment, teamwork, listening skills, honesty, self-expression, and creativity are fostered at all grade levels. Students are expected to become proficient in a number of software programs enabling them to determine the best possible software programs and research material for their presentations.
