LEMONT'S PUBLIC, PRIVATE SCHOOLS COME TOGETHER FOR ART APPRECIATION

Matt Piechalak, a photographer and reporter for MySuburbanLife.com and the Lemont Reporter, visited Everest Academy just prior to the  Christmas break.  As part of a story promoting Lemont‟s Artistic Expressions initiative, he took pictures of Everest students at work on art projects.

Remember to encourage your children to prepare an entry for the Artistic Expressions event.  The deadline for submissions is January 19th.  All of the art submitted will be on display to the public during an open house at Everest Academy on Feb. 16 and 17. The art will be judged by a panel on the interpretation of the theme, originality, creativity and artistic merit.

The winning submissions will be hung in a gallery at the Lemont Center for the Arts, 1243 State St.
