From the Desk of Brother Jaun Carlos LC

I visited the classrooms two weeks ago and introduced the boy we are helping, whose name is Juan Pablo, from Mexico. They were all so excited that they could help someone that many boys asked me on the spot “Can I put this dollar that I was going to use for the hot lunch in the bucket, please?” I was just impressed about their reaction. Also, last Tuesday, I went back to the classrooms to introduce the other child we are sponsoring, whose name is Amayrani Estephan, from Mexico too. I didn‟t know how to  introduce this one, since I thought to myself:

“Well, maybe they won‟t like the idea of sponsoring another child  because they have been lovingly giving the money to „Juan Pablo‟ and not to the other child…” so I decided to ask them a question: “what‟s better: to help one child, or two?”

And they all answered unanimously “TWO!”. So… without too much effort, our students are on fire helping these two students, praying for them, sacrificing desserts for them, etc. There was one of our students who told me: “Brother, I asked my mom not to buy ice-cream for me so that the money could go to help these children”. Wow! Isn‟t  that impressive! I think it shows that Everest Academy has students with very, very, very big hearts, ready to help the needy.
