Dear Parents and families of Everest Academy,

It is truly a joy to begin the new year here at Everest with your children. We have a very exciting year ahead of us and I know God has many blessings in store for each one of you. Being a parent is never easy, but it is so rewarding when you see them grow both physically and spiritually. Our virtue of the month that we will be working on is “Work”, with the special focus that of working on  Charity. We want our students to understand the importance of this virtue, and as St. Paul reminds us “These three remain: faith, hope and love, but the greatest of these is love…” 1
Corinthians:13.

Christ Himself has told us to love one another as He has loved us. Let us ask Him for the grace of being authentic Christians that live out in our daily lives this beautiful virtue of charity. Living out this virtue is demanding, but at the same time so rewarding. It requires a lot of self control, always seeking to focus on the positive aspects of someone rather than the negative and striving to always speak positively of others.

My mom would always tell me, “Charity begins at home…” so I ask you to motivate and encourage your children while you are together as a family to look for ways to be more charitable in their thoughts, words and actions. If we are sincerely fighting to live this virtue of Charity, I know we will be consoling Our Lord‟s heart.

Count on my prayers for you and your family always.  God bless you!
