SPECIAL GUEST
Fr. John Belmonte, S.J.
Superintendent of Catholic Schools for the Diocese of Joliet

On Friday, January, 21st, Father John M. Belmonte, S.J., a Jesuit Priest and Superintendent of Catholic Schools for the Diocese of Joliet, visited Everest Academy and concelebrated our All-School Mass with Father André LaSana, L.C.

Father Belmonte’s homily focused on grace.  He shared an acrostic to help us remember the meaning of grace:

God’s Riches At Christ’s Expense

Father Belmonte served as Principal of Marquette High School in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, from 2004 to July 1, 2010.  Prior to that, he served for four years as the Director of Pastoral Ministry at St. Ignatius College Prep in Chicago, Illinois.  He completed his Doctorate in Education from Loyola University in Chicago in 2006. He prepared for ordination to the priesthood at the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome, Italy. He grew up in Arlington Heights, Illinois, a Chicago suburb. His family still resides there.

We look forward to Father Belmonte’s next visit, when he promised to say the Prayer for the Pope with us from memory.
