Dear Parents,

In the New Year we hope to establish greater support for our students by inviting you to please join us during lunch to help supervise and assist our students.

“Lunchroom Moms” exist in many of our schools.  To date, we have not yet provided a venue for this interaction and support from our parents.  Would you be interested in joining us at lunch?  Which age group would you prefer to help -- lower or middle school?

In addition to seeking immediate help in the cafeteria, we would also like to form a small committee of Everest Academy moms and dads to coordinate and assist with this area.  Would you be interested in joining this new committee?  Here are some of the expectations of the committee.

Committee Overview - The Cafeteria Committee assists Everest Academy in caring for students during lunch by coordinating and scheduling parent volunteers to carry out lunchroom duties.

Specific Areas of Assistance - The specific areas of assistance of the Cafeteria Committee may include, but are not limited to, the following:

Secure volunteers
Schedule training for volunteers
Create calendar of volunteers - 2 lunch sessions per school day
Assign volunteers to cafeteria
Create a substitute list and schedule as needed
Instruct volunteers to contact a committee member if they are unable to be presenton an assigned day
Review the duties with all volunteers on the requirement of this role
Assign student to lead lunch prayers
Assure that children assigned to jobs clean their tables and the cafeteria after eating and before dismissal for recess.

If you are interested in serving as a Lunchroom Mom or Dad, or serving as a member of the Cafeteria Committee, please contact Mrs. Elise Pratt by phone at 630 243 1995 or by email at epratt@everestlemont.com .

Thank you for your support of this effort to provide greater support and formation to our
students in this area.
